Vision

Dear Church Family,

I want to encourage you in this new year to set goals and let the Lord speak to you about things that He wants to do naturally and spiritually in your life. Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish...” When you take time to hear from God concerning specific things it helps you to move in that direction.

As humans we tend to move in the direction of what is before our eyes. If God’s plan and purpose are before you that is the direction you will move. If not, you will move in a different direction. Most of us have been guilty of looking away from the road while we were driving and have noticed that we moved in that direction much to the dismay of others riding in the car with us.

In Acts 26:16-18 God revealed in a vision some things that He wanted the apostle Paul to do. In verse 19 Paul said, “… I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision.” I hope that we can all make that statement toward the end of our lives. In order to say that statement you must first take time to get direction from God.

Many of us set natural goals as far as exercise and financial planning at the beginning of the year. I want to encourage you to set spiritual goals as well. Purpose to spend more time with God and to walk closer with God. Purpose to do more for Him this year than you did the year before. Discover ways that you can make a difference in the church and in the lives of other people. Also, purpose to improve your relationship with those God has placed in your life.

Sir Winston Churchill once said, “History will be kind to me for I intend to write it.” May God’s grace be strong to do everything He puts on your heart to do, and may 2013 be the most glorious and fruitful year that we have seen so far!

In Christ,
Pastor Jeff
